I have updated this post with a better quality image!

The new computer has been ordered! 2.4 Macbook Pro with 4 GB of RAM and a 250 GB HD! Don't know when it will be here, but I'm guessing a week or so. Anyhow, I've been working on this:

Last week I had a dream that I was riding around Paris on a Dutch Bicycle in my 40s-style dress from Comrags and my cool leather boots. So being the total nerd that I am, I thought that drawing it would be a good idea. And yes bike fans, that IS a Batavus Old Dutch that I'm riding. And there's a sketchbook and pen in my basket. See? NERD.
This is going to be done in gouache I think. But I was also thinking that I might do the background on a separate page, then combine them in Photoshop once I have my computer back. Then I can keep the bg for my portfolio. The bg is of a cobblestone bridge with water and buildings in the back. I'll probably go more watercoloury as it receeds. That's why I like gouache. You get opaque AND watery all in one! With an amazing product like that, who needs watercolours???
Oh yeah and for something entirely different, I made creamed cabbage soup with my homemade turkey stock and delicious chunks of honey glazed ham! It was really good! I love purple veggies (like carrots, cabbage and potatoes) because they tint everything this wild colour! It's really cool!
