Transit Travels

Yesterday I went out amongst the HUMANS on my first day off in two months! On Monday my film achieved picture lock and can now move into the phase of cleanup and sound design. As instructed by my producer, Tuesday was to be a day for frolicking about in the public before locking myself in the art cave for another month. So I decided to meet up with two friends across town on the subway and brought my sketchbook along.

To let out some pent-up energy I tried to really draw without caring what things looked like. The nice thing about sketchbooks is you can always flip the page if something is ugly. But don't chuck it, because you might come back to it later and sort of like it.

Sometimes it's good to just chicken scratch.

The thing about Toronto is everyone is always staring at a cell phone. I refuse to buy a smart phone because I spend enough time staring at a screen. When did the simple act of daydreaming lose its ability to entertain?

Hope you don't miss your stop, buddy!

Sharp, pointy knees with a nice taper to the foot are very satisfying to draw.

And if you have legs as shapely as this woman's, you'd be making a smug expression too.

Time to get back to work! Home stretch, people!
